Scientific cooperation of NUCDU with Polish colleagues continues

On June 3, Svitlana Dombrowska, Vice-Rector and Head of the Training Research and Production Center of the National University of Civil Defence of Ukraine, Head of the Research Department Alina Pomaza-Ponomarenko and Senior Research Fellow Viktor Palukh, became reviewers in a general scientific periodical «Studies of Security». In addition, these researchers are members of its editorial board. The co-founders of the scientific periodical "Studies of Security" are the National University of Civil Defence of Ukraine and the Pomeranian Academy in Slupsk (Poland).

Due to the importance of security issues discussed in the scientific periodical "Studies of Security", scientific cooperation with the Pomeranian Academy in Slupsk and other domestic and foreign institutions of higher education continues.

SES signed Memoranda of Cooperation with the Council of Veterans of Ukraine at the Ministry of Veterans Affairs and NGOs

On February 10, the All-Ukrainian Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the Council of Veterans of Ukraine at the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, and public veterans' organizations. The event, during which the Memoranda of Cooperation were simultaneously signed by representatives of the territorial divisions of the SES and veterans' organizations from all over the country took place online.

The main purpose of the Memoranda is to cooperate in involving the public in the membership of voluntary fire brigades, which are formed by local governments and operate in the territorial communities of the country. The parties therefore agreed to coordinate their efforts and cooperate to achieve this goal.

Acting Head of the SES Serhiy Kruk thanked those present for starting important work that will strengthen cooperation between rescuers and volunteers, and drew attention to the example of the functioning of the voluntary fire brigades in Europe. In particular, there are more than 600,000 such volunteers in Poland.

Adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Kyrylo Sergeyev welcomed the desire of veterans' organizations to help people side by side with firefighters and expressed hope that the number of volunteers will only increase.

Deputy Minister for Veterans of Ukraine for European Integration Oleksiy Ilyashenko said that in pursuance of the Decree of the President of Ukraine "On the Annual National Program under the auspices of the NATO-Ukraine Commission", which defines the need for active cooperation with local took a direct part in the anti-terrorist operation, in measures to ensure national security and defense, repel and deter armed aggression of the Russian Federation in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, the Ministry of Veterans Affairs developed guidelines, including on involving veterans in tasks protection of the population, etc.

In turn, Volodymyr Laguta, Chairman of the Council of Veterans of Ukraine, noted that entering a new area of ​​cooperation will allow for more systematic interaction between the SES and veterans' organizations. He added that veterans are constantly involved as volunteers in the elimination of emergencies, in particular during the floods in the Carpathian region or fires in the Zhytomyr region in 2020.

Roman Primus, Deputy Head of the State Emergency Service for Digital Development, Digital Transformations and Digitization, noted that the development of the voluntary fire brigades in Ukraine has been identified as one of the main priorities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. He added that this movement is, in fact, a change in the consciousness of citizens, a different approach to determining the role of each person in society, and so on. According to him, the experience, desires and leadership qualities of veterans will fill this ambitious project.

At the end of the meeting, Dmytro Bondar, Deputy Head of the State Emergency Service, thanked the participants for their cooperation and stressed that the ultimate goal of joint work is to save the lives and property of our citizens.

According to the decision of the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education of January 28, 2022, senior lecturer of the Department of Fire and Technogenic Safety of Facilities and Technologies of the Faculty of Fire Safety Konstantin Afanasenko was elected a member of the branch expert council of the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education field of knowledge 26 "Civil Protection" in specialty 261 "Fire safety".

Graduation of masters took place at the National University of Civil Defence of Ukraine

On February 4, the National University of Civil Defence of Ukraine hosted a graduation ceremony. Today has become a crucial day in the professional development of university graduates. In total, during 2021-2022, the higher education institution of the SES of Ukraine graduated almost 700 specialists of various qualifications and forms of education.

Congratulations from the Acting Head of the SES of Ukraine Serhiy Kruk were announced at the solemn event. Rector of the University Volodymyr Sadkovyi also greeted the scientific and pedagogical workers and young specialists: “... I sincerely congratulate the graduates on graduation and obtaining a master's degree. Graduates of the National University of Civil Defence of Ukraine have always been distinguished by conscientious and professional performance of their duties, honest and dedicated attitude to the protection of the population and territories from emergencies of man-made and natural nature. I am convinced that the life path of each of you will now acquire a new meaning, and the knowledge gained during university studies will serve as a reliable foundation for successful professional growth, a solid foundation for reliable civil protection for our state and the Ukrainian people!"

Young specialists thanked the management and staff of the higher education institution, assured them that they would carry the high title of Graduate of the National University of Civil Defence of Ukraine with honor and dignity, thanked them for their constant attention, support and care.

An exciting and unforgettable moment of the festivities was the farewell ritual with the university flag. Joy and sadness shone in the eyes of the already young lieutenants. Sadness for the years they shared with their classmates in the barracks, and a bright hope that there is a real independent life ahead.

NUCDU creative groups - vocal "Anima" and dance "Flame" greeted the audience. The event was accompanied by the brass band of the university.
