Scientist from the National University of Civil Defence of Ukraine became a participant of the European Summit on Radiation, Chemical and Biological safety

The 12th International Civil Defense Summit was held in the Czech city Brno from November 30 to December 2. More than 100 experts from the United States, Germany, France, Italy, the United Kingdom, Portugal, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Poland, Bulgaria, Slovakia and Ukraine discussed international cooperation in responding to radiation, chemical and biological threats. At the scientific forum, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine was represented by Maksim Kustov, Head of the Scientific Department for Civil Protection and Technogenic and Environmental Safety of the Research Center of the National University of Civil Defense of Ukraine.

Particular attention was paid to measures to fight against COVID-19 pandemic. Maxim Kustov presented to the international community the capabilities of the SES to respond to emergencies of various kinds and presented the potential for training specialists in the field of civil protection at the National University of Civil Defence of Ukraine. Negotiations were also held with manufacturers of safety equipment in the framework of cooperation on scientific cooperation and testing of the latest equipment during practical classes at the university. During the meeting, an agreement was reached with the organizers and participants of the Summit to hold the next International Summit 2022 in Ukraine on the basis of NUCDU.

Representatives of the NUCD of Ukraine took part in an online training on the basics of overcoming gender-based violence

On November 30, Sofia Bogomazova, Specialist in Gender Equality, Stanislav Sklyarov, Head of the Sector for Prevention and Detection of Corruption, and Inna Lubyana, Senior Psychologist, Psychological Support Service, took part in a training session as part of the annual International Campaign «16 Days Against Violence».

The training was conducted by Yulia Galustyan, a gender expert at the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). The event addressed issues related to the history of the International Action "16 Days Against Violence", legal regulation of discrimination and violence, as well as participants were introduced to national practices of preventing gender-based violence.

Meeting of the Council of Young Scientists of NUCD of Ukraine on the occasion of the World Science Day for Peace and Development

On November 10, a meeting of the Council of Young Scientists of the National University of Civil Defence of Ukraine took place.

At the event, the issues of quality preparation of competitive works for participation in the All-Ukrainian competition of student research papers in the fields of knowledge and specialties in the 2021-2022 academic year were considered. The issues of the need to adjust the educational and scientific programs of training doctors of philosophy in the specialties: "Psychology", "Environmental Protection Technologies", "Fire Safety", "Civil Protection", "Public Administration" were also considered.

After the meeting, the Chairman of the Board Valentyn Kerdyvar congratulated the participants on the World Science Day in the name of peace and development, wished them success and creative inspiration in their future work!

On November, 9 at NUCDU would be hosted the V International Scientific and Practical Online Conference "Language in the Professional Dimension: Communicative and Cultural Aspect"

On November 9, 11 AM, at the National University of Civil Defence of Ukraine would be hosted the V International Scientific and Practical Online Conference "Language in the Professional Dimension: Communicative and Cultural Aspect", initiated by the Department of Language Training.

The conference will be attended by experts from 47 higher education institutions of our country and 6 foreign educational institutions, including - for the first time the Deutsche Welle Academy (Germany), representatives of the National Agency of Ukraine for Civil Service, the National Commission for State Language Standards and Ukraine's largest educational organization EdCamp Ukraine and others. After the plenary session, the online conference will continue in sections:

1. Professional language and successful communication.

2. Checklist for the formation of foreign language communicative competence.

3. Media discourse and coverage of the profession in the media space.

4. Challenges of modern terminology.

5. Philosophy of language in vocational education. Sociolinguistics.
