The National University of Civil Defence of Ukraine was presented by student of the master's degree in the management of the Faculty of Civil Protection Hanna Arnago and the student of the 4th year of the Civil Defense Faculty Tetyana Oliynyk, the scientific supervisor - Doctor of Science, Professor Olexander M. Sobol.
In the section "Applied geometry" young scientists from NUCDU presented a scientific work on the topic "Application of the method of splitting the sets to solve the problem of territorial distribution of protective structures", which got the I place. On April 26, a series of events took place in Kharkiv on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the Chernobyl tragedy. The Rector of the National University of Civil Defence of Ukraine, Lieutenant General of the Civil Protection Service Volodymyr Sadkovyi and the Head of the State Main Directorate of SES in Kharkiv region, Colonel of Civil Protection Service Oleksandr Volobuev took part in the ceremony of laying flowers at the monument in the square of Firefighter.
Head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration Yulia Svitlychna, representatives of the leadership of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, Kharkiv City Council, regional organizations in the affairs of the Chornobyl disaster, Kharkiv state institutions of higher education, Vice-Rector for Staff Colonel of civil protection serviсe Vadim M. Popov, scientific and pedagogical workers and cadets of the National University of Civil Defence of Ukraine, veterans took part in the funeral memorial ceremony and the ceremony of laying flowers to the monument to the victims of the Chernobyl disaster in the Youth Park.
On these April days, paying tribute to memory, we bow our heads low to those who, 33 years ago, consciously and sacrificially gave their lives and fulfilled their highest duty to their native land and people, stopping the disaster, and pay tribute to the living.

In the course of the training, an evacuation from the premises was held. Pupils coped with it without serious mistakes. The entire evacuation procedure took no more than four minutes. In addition, cadets of the fire department of NUCDU made a demonstrative rescue of the victim from the second floor, and also put out an improvised fire.
After that was held a lecture in the assembly hall with a demonstration regarding actions in detecting radiation, chemical and biological hazards, and a general lecture on safety rules when handling fire and fire extinguishing agents.
At NUCDU, continues trainings on extreme psychology for future rescuers
On April, 8-9, scientists of the research laboratory of extreme and crisis psychology of the National University of Civil Defence of Ukraine on the basis of the Center for the implementation of psychotraveling technologies, together with specialists of psychological support sector, continue trainings on "Extreme psychological training of rescuers to perform assignments in emergency situations". This time participants of the training become cadets of the socio-psychological faculty, who will soon graduate from our university and carry out assignments in real emergency situations, namely: to provide emergency psychological assistance to the affected population in emergency situations of different types.
During event was made a computer simulation of the elimination of emergencies of different types, including situations at the critical infrastructure. Also was realized the parallel monitoring of the psycho-physiological state of cadets and the level of stress using smartwatches-stresstrackers (Emwatch) and polygraph.
After the training, there was a test. During the event cadets learned the rapid methods of adaptation to extreme conditions, increased their stress tolerance, worked out psychological endurance and skills of effective psychological self-help and mutual assistance, and also considered the methodology of this training. As noted Head of the research laboratory of extreme and crisis psychology Svetlana Lebedeva, after graduation, a participant in training sessions on the basis of NUCDU will be trained on specialized psychological training course every five years.
